Petrol and diesel prices down again in June – news story

Petrol and diesel prices both decreased from May 2026 to June 2026, according to figures released by Stats NZ today.
Petrol prices were down 4.2 percent, while diesel prices decreased 12.1 percent.
“Fuel prices remained high in June but decreased for a second consecutive month, following increases in March and April,” prices and deflators spokesperson Nicola Growden said.
In the 12 months to June 2026, prices for these two fuel types increased – petrol was up 23.6 percent and diesel up 57.1 percent.
